Privacy Policy for SyncTune

SyncTune (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a music playback and social listening app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

By using SyncTune, you agree to this policy.

1) Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Account information: Google account basic profile details such as name, email address, profile photo, and Firebase user ID when you sign in.
App content and activity: liked songs, playlists, followed artists, room participation data, search queries, and playback-related state needed for app features.
Technical and diagnostic information: app performance, crash diagnostics, and device/app metadata through Firebase services.
Local app storage: cached feed/search results and app preferences stored on your device to improve speed and user experience.

SyncTune does not currently request contact list access, SMS access, microphone recording, or precise location for core functionality.

2) How We Use Information

We use information to:

Authenticate users and keep sessions active.
Provide music discovery, playback, playlists, likes, and room sync features.
Save your preferences and improve app reliability and performance.
Detect, prevent, and troubleshoot abuse, errors, and service issues.

3) Third-Party Services

SyncTune uses third-party services, including:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Analytics, Crashlytics, Messaging, Storage as applicable)
Google Sign-In
YouTube API Services

These providers process data according to their own privacy terms:

4) Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data only in these situations:

With service providers (for example, Google Firebase and YouTube services) to run core app functionality.
If required by law, legal process, or valid government request.
To protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.

5) Data Retention

We retain data for as long as needed to provide app features and comply with legal obligations.

Account-linked library data (likes, playlists, followed artists, room records) is stored in your Firebase project data stores.
Local cached data may remain on your device until cleared, uninstalled, or overwritten.
Logging out clears key local cache used by the app experience.

6) Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7) Your Choices and Rights

You can:

Sign out at any time.
Request deletion of your account-linked data by contacting us.
Manage Google account permissions from your Google account settings.

8) Children’s Privacy

SyncTune is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9) Advertising

SyncTune currently does not serve AdMob ads in the current release.

If advertising is added in a future release, we will update this Privacy Policy and Play Data Safety disclosures before or at the time of release.

10) Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
